Hi, I'm David Van Nuys, President of e-FocusGroups and I will be functioning as your Moderator. In addition to Posts from me, you will see entries from two of my clients. The research you are about to participate in will run over the course of three days: Monday (11/6), Tuesday (11/7) and Wednesday (11/8).
If you've come here before Monday, you'll see that I've posted the Day 1 questions early, just in case you came here over the weekend.\.
Each of the three mornings you will find that I have posted a new set of questions. Day 1 will have the most questions and Days 2 and 3 will be somewhat lighter.
I won't tell you who the client is or what the product is until Day 2. That's so we can get some unbiased responses on Day 1. Unless I ask you to put on your "Marketing hat," I'd like you to respond to the questions as your regular consumer self.
The questions will be rather detailed. Please reply in as much detail as possible. I'm hoping you may be able to check in to the discussion several times each day. The first time, you should answer all the questions I've Posted for that day. After that, in either the same session or later in the day, I'm hoping that you will log back in to see how your peers have answered the questions, and to Reply as additional insights, memories, and/or feelings are triggered.
The more interactive our discussion is, the more successful this research experience will be for us all.
Don't worry about grammar, syntax, and spelling. Just be as genuine and spontaneous as possible.
For the integrity of the research, it is important that you answer the questions sequentially without reading ahead.
New postings scroll in from the bottom. So as the discussion goes on, you will need to scroll way down to the bottom.
Also, items that you have not read will be a different color than those that you have read. This should help you to spot the new material quickly.
Sometimes the server will be particularly slow to respond. I find it helps to click the Stop button on the browser and then try again with whatever you were attempting.
If you try to click on the Post button, you'll get a message telling you that you don't have privileges for Posting. That's reserved for me and the clients so that our research questions will stand out. What you can do, however, is to Reply to those questions, and to one another.
Enough preamble! Let's get started!
And, thanks in advance!
- David
